Default Hi everybody, whats up?

Hi I'm new here, and I thought it might be a good idea to ask some questions that have been bugging me for a long time.

A buddy of mine has been doing som 5-split stuff for some time now, and he doesn't seem to take a day of. He has grown alot the last couple of months, and i just don't understand how it's possible. I've been doing some full-body programs 3 times a week since november, and i am struggeling to get my muscels growing, yet I seem to put more and more weights on. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong, It has to be something.

I'm sorry about the bad english

HI!!
I am also new to this forum. I was curious about starting GYM.
I am doing my regular work out 5 days a week. But never went to GYM.
Sorry bro no idea regarding your query. I saw and heard that after certain age your body will look really bad as the skin becomes more spongy and looks too old that your exact age. Is it true?

Default Answers...

I'll attempt to answer you both, with 33 years of Heavy Duty training under my belt...

jann2907 we all vary in regards to our tolerance for exercise, so while your friend has grown well off a 5-day split keep in mind two things, 1) he may have done better training less, and 2) there will come a time, as the poundage's climb, that if he doesn't reduce either his volume or frequency downward it will lead to overtraining.

handythomas, March marks my 33rd year of lifting Heavy Duty style, I started in 1977, and I have none of the issues you mentioned. In fact, if anything, I look much younger than my years. So I'd say it's another myth, don't get taken by it.

the training is only about 40%. Are you eating every two hours? If your trying to get bigger you should be. you should be gettting atleast 1.5-2 grams protein per pound bodyweight. I weight 250 pounds and everyday i get between 500-600 grams of protein. That's split between 6 meals and two shakes a day. The only time i use the shakes is pre and post workout. Eat like a horse and you'll make some serious gains! hopefully that'll help.
